Your silhouette

Silhouette V

Strong shoulders, narrow hips

Silhouette V

Your shoulders are naturally more prominent than your hips, which creates a V-shaped silhouette. Your body shape offers beautiful structure and lends itself to a wide variety of styles.

To flatter your silhouette: create visual balance between your upper and lower body by playing with volumes, colours and fabrics. The goal is to highlight your natural proportions while letting you express your style.

What to favour

  • V, U and asymmetrical necklines
  • Printed pants or skirts, in bright or light colours, fitted or straight
  • Jackets without shoulder pads
  • A visible belt
  • Well-fitted clothing, if you have a fuller bust
  • Sheath, trapeze and wrap dresses
  • Full, pleated, balloon or ruffled skirts
  • A-line miniskirts
  • Pockets at hip level
  • Wrap sweaters to define the waist

What to avoid

  • Jackets with padded shoulders (military epaulettes or added shoulder pads)
  • Blouses or jackets with leg-of-mutton sleeves
  • Boat necklines
  • Sweaters with horizontal stripes or large patterns
  • Bulky wool sweaters
  • Necklines that open wide over the shoulders
  • Camisoles with thin straps
  • Straight-cut strapless dresses
  • Long straight skirts
  • Oversized handbags carried under the arm
